Safety equipment Workshop Supervisor

SCOPE OF WORK

Under the authority of the Safety Department Manager, is responsible for carrying out the operations in the workshop he/she is in charge of. Guarantees the timeliness, quality of services provided and compliance with technical standards and regulations in place (manufacturers/international & local rules and QHSE).

Operations

• Plans workshop’s activities, along with the Technical & Administrative Customer Coordinator, to optimize maintenance operations.
• Monitors the execution of work done by his/her team.
• Controls the quality of work done by his/her team.
• Prepares reports and certificates that will be sent to clients.
• Provides technical clarifications to client, in connection with Technical & Administrative Customer Coordinator.
• Checks the stock of materials and spare parts, anticipates the needs.
• Establishes purchase orders for tools, spare parts and consumables necessary for the smooth running of the workshop.
• Liaises directly with equipment manufacturers for technical clarifications.

Management

• Supervises and coordinates activities of Technicians and Helpers under his/her responsibility.
• HR management of his/her team: ensures development of his/her employees’ skills through mentoring and requests for training, proposes internal mobility plans, proposes disciplinary sanctions.
• Ensures a periodic reporting to the Safety Department Manager.
• Ensures the development of good social interactions.

SKILLS & BACKGROUND

Work experience

• First significant experience on similar position in a technical environment
• A first in managing multicultural teams is a plus

Technical skills

Maintenance of safety equipment

Certifications

• Holds all mandatory certifications required for the position
• Zodiac and/or Viking certified or Draeger and/or Desautel

Degree

HND/HNC in Maintenance of Safety Equipment or equivalent

Languages

English required, French and Portuguese are a plus
