SCOPE OF WORK
Under the authority of the Safety Department Manager, is responsible for carrying out the operations on sites offshore he/she is in charge of.
Ensures and guarantees the proper inspection and/or maintenance activities of safety equipment in compliance with technical standards and regulatory requirements (flags, classification organisms, manufacturers and QHSE)
Operations
- Follows up all inspections & maintenance operations he is responsible for (life saving appliances, cylinders, respiratory protection, gas detection, extinguishers and other firefighting equipment).
- Sets up the list of equipment to be inspected and/or maintained on his/her work site along with the Technical & Administrative Coordinator.
- Prepares materials, tools and equipment required for inspection and/or maintenance operations.
- Takes delivery of client’s equipment to be controlled.
- Defines the work to be performed on equipment delivered.
- Performs all work in accordance with specifications.
- Ensures in conjunction with his/her Manager of the compliance between maintenance needs and initial works orders/material requests.
- Proposes all the resources required for certification of equipment (revision of procedures; additional works; purchase or renewal of equipment…).
- Assures a daily report about operations progress and problems encountered to his/her Manager.
- Performs all required works.
- Supervises and coordinates the execution of work done by his/her team of helpers.
- Controls the quality of work done by his/her team.
- Prepares and issues reports and certificates.
- Checks the stock of materials and spare parts, anticipates the needs.
- When necessary, shares his/her technical knowledge and advises helpers of choice and manner of progressing the operations in the frame of the realization of the contract.
Management
- Supervises and coordinates activities of Helpers under his/her responsibility.
- HR management of his/her team: ensures development of his/her employees’ skills through mentoring and requests for training, proposes internal mobility plans, proposes disciplinary sanctions.
SKILLS & BACKGROUND
Work experience
- Minimum of 15 years experience on similar position
- A first in managing multicultural teams is a plus
Technical skills
Maintenance of safety equipment
Certifications
- Holds mandatory certifications delivered by a recognized certification organism or by a manufacturer required for the position
- BST/HUET or BOSIET
Degree
HND/HNC in Maintenance of Safety Equipment or equivalent
Languages
English required, French and Portuguese are a plus
