SCOPE OF WORK
Under the authority of the Subsea Manager, is responsible for the maintenance and operating of R.O.V. His/her role and responsibilities are in accordance with IMCA guidance note IMCA D 005.
He/She ensures that all marine related equipment are operational. It covers amongst other:
- Is responsible for the R.O.V. to operate it but also its specific equipment maintenance, testing, repairs, recertification according to IMCA guidelines and Company procedures.
- Is responsible for R.O.V. store stock management, spare and consumables restocking, ordering equipment, documenting and processing.
- Prepares the equipment prior to the operations. Is responsible for the mobilization and the demobilization of R.O.V.
- Important: no work should be carried out on any part of the R.O.V. without the authority of the Diving Supervisor/Superintendent or Client Representative when assigned on diving work site.
- Ensures operations and data recording are carried out correctly. Provides reports and documenting equipment certificates.
- Defines, manages and supervises tasks performed by Assistant(s) when applicable.
SKILLS & BACKGROUND
Work experience
Significant experience in a technical/operational position on R.O.V. Operating & Maintenance
Technical skills
- IMCA legislation/ guidelines awareness. Equipment training courses
- Safety, emergency procedures, preventive maintenance, breakdown situations, administration
- Re-termination and repairing optical fiber, reflectometry and OTDR use
Certifications
- Detailed knowledge of one or more of the following: electrical, electronic (preferred), mechanical or hydraulic engineering
- BST/HUET or BOSIET
Languages
Fluent spoken and written English, French is a plus
