SCOPE OF WORK

Under the authority of the Marine Operation Superintendent, acts as marine advisor for export tanker Master, as per port regulations and Company procedures, for the tanker movements on site: arrival, mooring, loading, residence, unmooring, departure, emergency response on board the export tanker.
He/She is the Terminal representative for Company for any safety, security, environmental and commercial matters on board the export tanker.

 

Safety:

  • Is in charge of the tanker inspection on arrival for safety, security and environmental related
    matters.
  • Checks the conformity of export tanker and her crew.
  • Verifies compliance of the export tanker with MARPOL regulations during her stay on site.
  • Acts as ISPS representative on board the export tanker on behalf of the PFSO and is the PFSO
    delegate on board the FPSO
  • Acts as focus point on board the tanker during normal and emergency situations.
  • Fills up the ISGOTT Ship Shore Safety Check List with the Export Tanker’s Master.

 

Export tanker handling:

  •  Uses available naval means (tugs and AHTS) for tanker movement as per Company
    procedures and port regulations.
  • Reviews export tanker handling procedures and emergency response on a regular basis.
  • Is in charge of mooring team management during export tanker operations.
  • Follows up the maintenance of offloading buoy, mooring equipment and floating hoses with
    marine crew
  • Coordinates the activities at the bow/stern and on deck of the export tanker.
  • Supervises the hoses connection/disconnection.
  • Is in charge of handling/transfer of material and equipment with the export tanker.

 

Terminal representative for Company:

  • Endorses all loading/offloading documents and all other commercial documentations on behalf of Company (except the Bill of Lading).
  • Follows up the cargo operations: inspection with cargo surveyors on deck, loading/discharge plan, loading/offloading operations and communications with cargo control room.
  • Draws up “brief call reports” for Company.
  • Initiates the “letter of protest” when needed.
  • Evaluates the training requirements of the naval mean’s Master (tugs and AHTS) on the block.

 

 

SKILLS & BACKGROUND

 

Work experience

  • Minimum experience of thirty (30) months on board service as Senior Officer (Chief Officer or above) seagoing AFRAMAX tankers or larger
  • Be familiar with tanker operations.
  • Be familiar with the operation of terminal tugs.
  • Proven record of achievement within marine operations
  • Supervisory experiences

 

Certifications

Valid IMO STCW 95 deck officer class 1, unlimited

BST/HUET or BOSIET

 

Degree

Former Merchant Navy Officer Mariner

 

Languages

Fluent spoken and written English (French and Portuguese is an advantage)
