Hoses Operations Superintendent

SCOPE OF WORK

Under the authority of the Base Manager/Hoses Operations Manager, has the overall responsibility for the Company Hoses activities. Is the warrant of the economic balance of our contracts and responsible for permanently optimizing assignment of human resources and provision of materials.

He/She is responsible for the good running of his/her department and must make sure objectives are reached. Throughout his/her action he/she contributes to the development of his department. Coordinates operations related to hoses. He/She ensures and guarantees the proper maintenance, inspection, assembly/disassembly of hoses lines and ensure along with the Hoses Supervisor the connection/disconnection of hoses string from buoy or tandem in compliance with technical standards and regulatory requirements (manufacturers and QHSE). Works closely with Supervisor of this activity.

Operations

• Analyses the technical feasibility of specific client requests.
• When necessary, shares his technical knowledge and advises the Hoses Supervisor of choice and manner of progressing the operations in the frame of the realization of the contract.
• Anticipates material and human resources needed to assure the good running and development of his/her department.
• Establishes purchase orders for tools, spare parts and consumables necessary for the smooth running of the workshop.
• For the client he/she is the warrant of the right execution (with respect to deadline and quality requirements) of all clauses of the contact.
• Liaises directly with equipment manufacturers for technical clarifications.
• Analyses technical feasibility and ROI of potential new activities.
• Plans yard’s activities, along with the Hoses Supervisor, to optimize the operations.
• Monitors the execution of work done by his/her team.
• Make sure the work is made in accordance with specifications.
• Controls the quality of work done by his/her team.
• Prepares reports that will be sent to clients.

Management

• Supervises and coordinates activities of his/her Hoses department
• Organizes and leads regular meetings with his team in Soyo and assures the realization of action plans.
• Ensures a daily reporting to the Base Manager

Commercial

• In charge of the response to calls for tender especially on their technical components but also regarding pricing.
• Ensures the relationship with clients for every subject related to commercial contracts.
• Participates to business development activities.
• Maintains frequent relations with business partners the company represents in Angola (Yokohama, Trelleborg, Dunlop…).
• Keeps focused on business development opportunities.

HR

• Identifies recruitment needs and draft a recruitment plan.
• Participates to recruitment interviews along with HR Manager.
• Participates in establishment of training plans aiming to increase the competencies of the team members and to assist the professional evolution of its teams.
• Organizes and leads annual appraisals for its teams.
• Elaborates internal mobility plans and liaises with HR to implement these promotion plans and salary increases.
• Liaise with HR to launch the disciplinary process.
• Ensures the development of good social interactions.

Financial Management

• Makes sure that information to set up invoices are properly transmitted.
• Participates to debt collection when required.
• Makes sure that his/her stock of new materials and spare parts is optimized.
• Keeps in mind global efficiency and requirements to increase productivity and ROI of activities he is in charge of.

SKILLS & BACKGROUND

Work experience

• Significant experience in a management position in a technical environment dealing with hoses assembly/maintenance
• Engineering background
• Experienced in managing multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams

Technical skills

Hoses, marine and diving activities, project activities

Certifications

BST/HUET or BOSIET

Languages

Fluent spoken and written English, French & Portuguese are a plus
